Stitch & Paint: Hong-gah’s Chinese Embroidery Archives and Multimedia Application Exhibition
Back in 2006, Hong-gah had co-operated with the United Daily News Group to stage the “Contemporary Embroidery Art Exhibition” at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Taipei, which was very well attended, attracting close to 30,000 visitors. In 2013, at the requests of the enthusiastic public, Hong-gah had held an eventful “Painting with Stitches” exhibition, showcasing its fine Chinese embroidery archives along with multimedia interactive designs of its digitalized content, as well as cultural creative industry applications and public learning programs. Engaging the Chinese embroidery archives as its main curatorial key, the exhibition was divided into 4 themes: Value-added Applications of Embroidery Digital Archives, Embroidering and Embroidery, Stitch and Paint, Multimedia Interactive Area. In addition, guided tours and self-guided learning tools were available on site, while lectures and workshops on embroidery were also held from time to time to provide the public a further understanding into the contemporary Chinese embroidery.
